Case Studies
We found conducting pilots has been a useful way to demonstrate how profiling can benefit services directly, has given us evidence as to how it can be used and allowed us to test our approach before offering profiling across the organisation. Our experience carrying out these pilots has been invaluable and without them, this toolkit would not exist.
We conducted four pilots within Calderdale Council. We chose the services based on the following:
- There was a specific objective that profiling could impact
- The service collects, cleans and effectively manages data
- Timescales fit within the project - we were able to extract data, profile, analyse and feed into the service planning and delivery within a set time period
- There is long term value for the service in using profiling in the future
This is not an exhaustive list and not all the above criteria are required should you wish to pilot profiling within your own organisation but they were a good starting point for the Calderdale Council projects.
