Classification Tools
At Calderdale Council we wanted to use profiling to understand our residents and then apply that knowledge to service issues using our own data. Once we had scoped what we wanted to achieve, secured the funding and brought together a project team, the next step was to decide which classification tool we would use for the profiling.
Why we chose MOSAIC
We chose to use a proprietary classification tool - Mosaic Public Sector - because:
- It provides a comprehensive view using a wide range of data
- The information is updated each year
- The supplier is able to carry out bespoke analysis if needed
- There is a support network among users of the system
- National standards enables benchmarking and comparisons between local authorities
- Partners buying a licence have access to the same data assisting partnership working
